Apple launches iPhone 16 series, discontinues iPhone 13 and iPhone 15 Pro models

Apple has officially discontinued several older iPhone and Apple Watch models following the release of its iPhone 16 series and Apple Watch Series 10. Among the discontinued products are the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 13, and the Apple Watch Series 9.

These items are no longer available on Apple’s official website, but they may still be found through third-party sellers or as refurbished units. The iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and Apple Watch Series 9 were introduced in September 2023, while the iPhone 13 was launched in September 2021.

Apple’s iPhone SE remains its most affordable offering, with the ‌iPhone 14‌ and ‌iPhone 14‌ Plus seeing a $100 price reduction as they take the place of the ‌iPhone 13‌ models. The iPhone 15 and ‌iPhone 15‌ Plus are also priced $100 lower than their equivalent ‌iPhone 16‌ models, with prices starting at $699.

Despite being discontinued, the ‌iPhone 13‌ and ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ models may still be found in Apple’s refurbished store while supplies last, and third-party retailers are expected to have stock available until it runs out.

Apple introduced four new iPhones: the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max. These devices are “designed from the ground up” to incorporate AI features. The more budget-friendly iPhone 16 ($799+) and 16 Plus ($899+) now feature faster A18 chips and “Action” buttons, which were first introduced in last year’s iPhone 15 Pro models.
