Goonies cast reunites to celebrate Ke Huy Quan’s Hollywood comeback at TCL Chinese Theatre

Nearly 40 years after The Goonies became a cult classic, members of the film’s cast reunited to celebrate Ke Huy Quan’s latest career milestone. On Monday, actors Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green, Corey Feldman, and screenwriter Chris Columbus attended Quan’s hand-and-footprint ceremony at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.

Quan’s Hollywood journey has been one of resilience and success. After stepping away from acting for nearly two decades, he made a triumphant return with Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), earning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. His comeback has been widely praised, and the reunion with his Goonies co-stars highlighted the enduring bond they share.

During the ceremony, Brolin read a heartfelt letter from The Goonies executive producer Steven Spielberg, who applauded Quan for achieving “two meteoric rises” in Hollywood—first as a child star and later as an award-winning actor. Brolin also reflected on his own struggles in the industry, expressing admiration for Quan’s perseverance.

Before his return to acting, Quan worked behind the scenes as a stunt choreographer and assistant director. Speaking to Too Fab, he described the ceremony as an emotional experience, saying he couldn’t hold back tears after reuniting with his former castmates.

When asked about a potential Goonies sequel, Quan expressed enthusiasm, calling the original film “one of the greatest adventures of my life.” He said he would be thrilled to reprise his role and reunite with the cast for another adventure.

The event not only honored Quan’s achievements but also reinforced the lasting impact of The Goonies and the friendships it forged
