ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday directed the Foreign Office (FO) to arrange a meeting of Dr Fouzia with Pakistan’s ambassador to the US to boost efforts for the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui from a US prison.
During the hearing of the case, Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan remarked that next week was important.
Dr Fouzia’s lawyer, Imran Shafiq, said the PM’s letter to the US president remained unanswered, adding his client Dr Fouzia, the sister of Dr Aafia, was in the US but was finding it hard to meet the Pakistani ambassador.
Upon hearing this, the court instructed the Foreign Office to arrange a meeting between Dr Fouzia and the Pakistani ambassador.
